Kraket unites students and business life by casedays, inhousedays and the annual ‘Landelijke Econometristendag’ (National Econometricians day) abbreviated as LED. At these events members can get in touch with companies and orientate themselves on the labour market.
Furthermore, once every two years Kraket organises a study trip abroad. In 2015 a group of students travelled to Madrid, where they visited various companies, a university, and the Dutch embassy and of course they also explored the city itself. Previous study trips had destinations such as Istanbul, Tokyo, New York and Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Brazil. The next study trip will take place in 2017.
The printing press also runs full steam at Kraket. The magazine SECTOR is published twice a year. This formal magazine contains much information about companies. In each edition there are business interviews, columns and different articles by companies, lecturers and other guest writers. In addition, every quarter an edition of the Ecotribune is published. In this informal magazine you can find extensive reports of the organised activities.
Indeed, Kraket also organises relaxing activities. Examples are the ‘Sinterklaas’ celebration, the annual go-karting, and a number of drinks and parties. Besides that, Kraket is also quite sporty, with regular activities like football, pooling, ice skating and squash. At the end of the year the board organises a weekend trip to an unknown destination. During this weekend, the ‘Kraketweekend’, you get to know people from different academic years in a sporty and relaxing way.
